The Spice Factory is located in Hamilton Ontario. The venue itself is a three-story building with various options for your ceremony and reception. The building offers an opportunity to also do your getting ready there, saving you some money for a location to do this. You can also do your ceremony indoors or outdoors in their patio. However, their patio is quite small and if you have a wedding of over 75 people some guests will have to stand.
The ceremony venue is really nice, they offer great chairs included renting. This space also acts as an outdoor cocktail hour after your ceremony and has fire pits so your guests are not cold. The first floor of the venue can be your indoor ceremony space and cocktail hour spot as well. It has a bar and beautiful brick walls covered in lights and bright windows. This room definitely has vintage vibes that take you back to the 70s. You may also use this room for your reception.
The building has the capacity to host weddings of up to 160 in their black pepper room (which is the second-floor area). This room is DARK, so I would definitely not recommend this space for any couples that want a bright wedding. I would embrace the darkness! It feels very intimate and warm. The main floor has a capacity of up to 120 seated (also known as the Cilantro Room). And the top floor (third floor) also known as the Mustard Seed Loft can seat up to 100.
Weddings can use various floors to spill out if you need extra space! If you feel tight on your floor, use another level to host the dancing. Spill out your cocktail hour on the outside patio. It is great to have all the spaces!
The Spice Factory is also a great location to do all your wedding photos! Because you have the option of getting ready, doing portraits, they have beautiful windows, brick walls and great outdoor facades. Walking distance are tons of graffiti walls, the Hamilton main strip filled with great bars, breweries, and spots for unique photos! You definitely don’t have to keep it to the venue!
If you want to drive, you have the Royal Botanical Gardens, Dundurn Castle, Dundas Peak, Tiffany Falls and many many more for your portrait photos nearby! I mean your day can be filled with everything you can imagine! From nature to city, from fresh filled donuts to ice-cold beers! This venue is amazing for your needs!
